Carlo Nason
Carlo Nason is a renowned Italian lighting designer and glassmaker, recognized for his innovative and distinctive contributions to contemporary lighting design. Nason was born in 1935 in Murano, into a family of prestigious glassmakers. His father, Vincenzo Nason, ran the well known glass company NasonMoretti and eventually opened a second glass company under the name Vincenzo Nason & C in 1941.
Nason's career took off in the 1960s when he began collaborating with various Italian design companies, including renowned brands like Mazzega and Tonell. His designs often feature fluid shapes and a vibrant play of light and color, showcasing the unique properties of glass. He is particularly known for the use of mouth-blown glass techniques, which allow for intricate and organic forms that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
