Groovy Home of American Textile Designer Jack Lenor Larsen, 1968

With a career spanning over six decades, Jack Lenor Larsen has transformed the way we perceive and interact with textiles, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. Through his unique aesthetic sensibilities, dedication to craftsmanship, and experimental approach, Larsen has undoubtedly earned his reputation as a modern-day pioneer.

Larsen's distinctive design aesthetic is a result of his diverse range of influences and unwavering dedication to artistic integrity. Drawing inspiration from a myriad of sources, including nature, global cultures, and contemporary art, Larsen weaves intricate narratives into his textile creations. His designs seamlessly blend vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and organic forms, delivering a sensory experience that transcends the boundaries of traditional textile design.

It’s no surprise his home is uniquely designed to fit his artistic aesthetic. There’s not many photos of the inside of his home but we do have images of one living area featuring Pierre Paulin’s ‘Groovy’ chairs and his ‘Nest’ sofa in it’s original Jack Lenor Larsen fabric.
